How Screenzor works

Quick reference for recording, editing, sharing, and account features. This page is separate from the main app so you can keep it open while you work.

For the product story and capabilities overview, see About Screenzor.

Quick start

Three steps from capture to feedback.

  1. 1

    Capture or upload

Record a tab, window, or screen. Save screenshots while you record without stopping the video. Or upload video, audio, or images from your computer.

  2. 2

    Polish and transcribe

Generate AI transcripts, trim, crop, and open Edit Studio from the watch page.

  3. 3

    Share and review

Publish a link when you are ready. Viewers get a clean player with comments and reactions.

Screenshots during recording

Capture a still frame from your screen share and save it to your library without stopping the video.

  1. 1

    Open the recorder

Go to Record and choose the tab, window, or screen you want to share.

  2. 2

    Start recording (or stay armed)

After you pick a source, you can save a screenshot once Screenzor has a live preview. You do not need to wait for the countdown to finish if you only want a still.

  3. 3

    Save screenshot

Click Save screenshot in the recorder panel, or press the camera button on the floating recording toolbar. Keyboard shortcut: ⌘⇧P on Mac or Ctrl⇧P on Windows and Linux. Your recording keeps running.

  4. 4

    Find it in your library

Each screenshot is saved as a PNG with a timestamped title. Open Library and switch to the Screenshots tab. Pro subscribers also get account backup when cloud sync is enabled.

  5. 5

    Optional: after you stop

When the recording finishes, use Save screenshot from preview to grab one more frame from the finished video. Open any screenshot in Edit Studio to crop, filter, or export. Transcription is for video and audio only, not screenshots.

Feature reference

Screen capture

Record a tab, window, or full screen.

Use the Screen Capture API and MediaRecorder to record a browser tab, application window, or entire screen. Optional microphone and system or tab audio, countdown, and presentation mode help you ship a clean take without extra software. While you record, save PNG screenshots to your library without stopping the video.

Library and upload

One place for everything you save.

Your library lives in browser storage on this device by default. Upload files from disk, rename titles inline, search the grid, and filter into Recent or Watch later. Pro can back recordings up to your account.

Watch experience

A focused player with a smart sidebar.

Open any recording from your library or a share link. The player supports theater mode, picture in picture, captions when a transcript exists, and footer controls for likes. The sidebar keeps review, editing shortcuts, AI tools, transcript, and watch settings in one place.

AI transcripts

Speech to text while you watch.

Turn spoken audio into searchable text from the watch page. Transcripts stay with the recording locally. Published cloud copies can expose the same transcript panel to viewers.

Edit Studio

Crop, trim, grade, and more in the browser.

Edit video and images without leaving Screenzor. Use quick tools for crop, trim, speed, look, overlays, and export, or open the full Edit Studio. FFmpeg.wasm and canvas pipelines run in your browser. Long exports can be cancelled safely.

Share and review

Publish links and collect async feedback.

Publish a recording so anyone with the link can watch without signing in. Signed in collaborators get comments, emoji reactions, likes on the engagement bar, and in app notifications when someone engages on a shared recording.

Privacy minded

Local first. Share only when you choose.

You control what leaves the device. Free keeps captures local. Pro adds account backup and sharing features. Publishing is per recording. Labels on the dashboard show whether something is only on this device, backed up, or published.
